15's katie conner. officers are swarming a neighborhood near 85th avenue and mcdowell. >> reporter: we moved to the other side of the crime scene. let me step out of the way. the investigation seems to be centering on this two story home. we've watched detectives go in and out of this home. we're waiting for sergeant to update us on what exactly this is all about. you can see berkeley is completely shut and the mood is definitely shifting from when we first got here. after 4 a.m. there was a police helicopter shining in people's backyards, calling for a suspect to come out. the helicopter has left. we do not know if police have located the suspect. the mood has shifted and we no longer see police officers hiding behind the shields like we saw at 4:00 this morning.

started in the parking lot. they got numerous 911 calls about shots fired. the victim is actually down the block. his car is halfway in the building. them this guy was actually shot. he lost control of his car, and then he plowed into the building. thankfully, the folks inside the apartment complex are okay. but as for the guy, he did die on scene. as for a suspect. we don't have a clear description of that suspect right now. but i can tell you that a phni came up and he's going to give us another update on this. and we'll have an update in just a few minutes, dan and danielle -- in the valley, families are looking for answers two years after their loved one was murdered. >> and they hope you can help. >> until there's an arrest or

stabbed six times while closing up shop and the whole thing was caught on video. the attacker is still on the loose. all of this happened in tucson late thursday knight. two people wearing bandannas and hats came in through the back door and pepper sprayed an employee. they went behind the bar, tackled the manager, and stabbed him over and over again. >> i'm hoping they charge him with attempted murder. they stabbed m kicked him in the head three times after they stabbed him. if that's not attempted murder, i don't know what is. >> the back door was unlocked and they plan to beef up security and add 16 cameras. the gloves are off between donald trump and jeff flake. trump took aim at flake, calling him weak. allison rodriguez is live with

medical school. the worker rushed to the hospital and then passioned away. they do not know the cause of the crane accident. a scary scene in ohio at a labor day barbecue. guns drawn around an ambulance. the person driving the ambulance took it from a gas station because it was left unlocked with the keys inside. the driver went on a bit of a joyride. and the emergency vehicle had gps and police were able to track it quickly. they don't know why at that home there. but the homeowner said he didn't know the guy. the suspect has been booked on a couple of charges. a new hampshire man dedicated his entire career to his alma mater. when he passed away last year, it left a big void in the community. never fear wildcats of unh. he left the school 4 million bucks.

involving my social security. and most of the e-mails come from a dot gov address. a little confusioning? since the link was in the e- mail, what the hackers want you to click on -- let's concentrate with that. it shows ss adot governor forward slash. all of the legitimate links have a slash after the.gov. these are frauds. if you want to protect yourself, don't click on links in e-mails, go directly to the site and do what you have to there. this may come as a bit of a

breaking news as two shootings at the top of the newscast. and phoenix officers also on the scene of a stabbing right here. this is brand new at 19th avenue and glendale. and officers are telling our crew, the victim was just walking down the street. and a guy pulls up in a car, jumps out, tries to rob the pedestrian. and the pedestrian put up a fight and ended up getting stabbed. he was able to walk to a convenience store and get help. sounds like he's going to be okay. if i get another update i'll let you know. no dancing around your story here danielle. >> this guy started from the bottom and now he's here. drake is coming to the valley. the concert starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are around $45. >> i'm guessing you had a lot

valley next and break down the commute. and at 5:30. i want to update you on two large police investigations happening. we know that one situation has now turned deadly. and we have katie conner and justin pazera. and i want to start with katie conner near 83rd and mccultural. >> reporter: i just talked with the sergeant. and this is a home invasion that happened at the home right behind me at the corner. if we can zoom in to the second story and up near the window. the curtain was almost ripped off. this happened just before 4:00 this morning. this was the view from the other side of the scene. patrol cars and crime tape blocked the street off. and we watched the officers stand by as the search for the suspect. the search has been called off.

caught someone. police still have the entire street taped off. as soon as we learn more if they did catch the suspect, chris, we'll let everyone at home know. >> katie, that was originally dispatched as a shooting call. and i want to go to another phoenix incident. another shooting call justin pazera is on the scene of this one. the driver died in this one. but justin, you're trying to sort this out what do you have? >> reporter: so i can tell you i just got an update from phoenix police. this all started in this parking area. you can see where investigators are right in the middle of the street. there's about three shell casings. and they believe that's where the male victim was shot. just up the block, the car is actually inside an apartment complex. three people were in the apartment when the car just came in. and police started getting calls about 2:00 this morning,

fired. they believe the victim was shot inside the car. and the car basically lost control and plowed into the apartment complex. phoenix police officers -- they actually rushed in everybody though the building was compromised and they thought the ceiling was going to collapse. they went in and tried to save him but unfortunately he died on the scene. police don't have a good description of the suspect. along. live in phoenix, justin pazera, abc 15. and a mother and her 3-year- old daughter are at home after a terrifying night. >> the father tried to back into the two after an argument. all of it happening in west phoenix yesterday afternoon near 43rd and buckeye. after the mother and daughter got out, a nearby witness opened fire, hitting the suspect.

away, later called 911 saying he'd been shot. police don't know who the vigilante gunman might be. we're waiting on that information from police. happening right now. a motorcyclist taken to the hospital this morning after that motorcyclist was hit by a passing car on the i-10 near 7th avenue. this is a look from one of our adot cameras. the driver took off, didn't wait around for officers or find out if the rider was going to be okay. i'm waiting to find out from dps if they caught the driver and the condition of the motorcyclist. stay tuned for that. and from there, i want to go to tempe. we have an update on the condition of a police officer involved in a bad crash. this was near priesten warner. we have learned that the

injuries. it's unknown if the driver who caused this was injured or cited. another one to tell you about. this is southern and mill late last night. three cars involved in the crash. and the injuries are serious for a female who is in one of the cars approximately in her mid-20s. she was taken to the hospital. there were road restrictions last night into the early morning hours. 5:35, chris. and two arizo killed when their atv caught fire in utah. the accident happened friday in the sand flats recreational area in moab. debby swan of apache junction and 28-year-old destiny dixon of prescott. the two were trying to navigate an obstacle called the tip over challenge. crews found the atv on fire.

it's a quarter to 6:00 on abc 15 mornings. the sunrise is about to happen as you see the mountains silhouetted here at the valley of the sun. 77degrees outside right it feels pretty cool. we'll get to the most accurate labor day forecast in just minutes. across the nation we go. two men died in a plane crash in texas while trying to perform stunts. the plane went nose down into a river saturday night. a witness saw the plane doing loops and it looked like the engine stalled just before the crash. a group of fishermen saving

near the coronado islands. the boat crashed into some rocks and started taking on water. they broadcasted for help and another boat was luckily nearby. all passenger and crew members were able to get off safely. the cause of the crash is under investigation. a terrifying ride for an illinois college student as he is kidnapped and robbed. he walked out of the starbucks and was ordered gun point. the two men made him hand over his atm and pin number. they withdrew $1600 from that student's account. one of the suspects is caught and the other still on the loose this morning. a break in a 27-year-old murder mystery. remains were found in minnesota over the weekend. something that we and so many people are talking about right now.

police have the neighborhood near 83rd avenue and berkeley. that's north of mcdowell. this neighborhood was locked down, sealed with crime scene tape. and it's about 10 minutes away from a triple homicide related to the serial street shooter. katie conner is at the scene where police srmed the neighborhood. a lot of concern. what are you now learning that you can tell our viewers. >> reporter: this invasion that happened around 3 a.m. we don't know if anyone was hurt. this was originally dispatched as a shooting early this morning. officers swarmed the neighborhood and searched for the suspect and used a police continuer to help search in the backyard. the search was called off around 4:15 this morning. it's not clear if police have the suspect in custody. police still have the entire street taped off. and they are going in and out
